Overview
- Sunderland v Arsenal is scheduled for Saturday 12 September with an 8pm BST kick-off at the Stadium of Light and live coverage on TNT Sports and HBO Max.
- Arsenal arrive unbeaten across competitions after five wins, including a 1-0 Champions League victory over Napoli in which Martin Ødegaard scored the late winner.
- Multiple outlets list William Saliba as unavailable and Jurrien Timber and Cristhian Mosquera as doubts, while predicted line-ups widely name Christos Tzolis as a likely starter on the left.
- Sunderland have four points from three league games, recent EFL Cup progress, long-term absentees Romaine Mundle and Habib Diarra, and a Europa League tie to prepare for next week.
- Bookmakers make Arsenal clear favourites and the midweek travel plus potential rotation is the key tactical storyline that could shape both teams' short‑term fitness and selection choices.
