ARRI Introduces ALEXA 35 Xtreme with 660 fps, Extended Buffers and ARRICORE Codec

Overview

  • The ALEXA 35 Xtreme officially replaces the ALEXA 35 and offers frame rates up to 330 fps at full 17 stops of dynamic range and up to 660 fps at 11 stops via Sensor Overdrive mode.
  • ARRICORE debuts in beta as a next-generation RGB codec that lowers data rates without altering ProRes or ARRIRAW workflows to maintain image quality.
  • Pre-record buffers are extended fivefold, enabling 30 seconds of 4.6K ProRes 4444 capture at 24 fps and up to five minutes of HD ProRes 422 HQ at 24 fps.
  • Power consumption is reduced by 10% and WiFi connectivity is enhanced with 5 GHz support, mesh roaming and automatic reconnection to speed on-set operations.
  • New ALEXA 35 Xtreme cameras start at $57,330 and existing ALEXA 35 Base, Premium or Live units can be upgraded for €15,900 with license retention from August 2025.
