Arrest in Atlanta Theft of Beyoncé’s Unreleased Music as Hard Drives Remain Missing

Court records list a felony entering-auto charge with $20,000 bond set after the late-August booking.

Overview

  • Police say Kelvin Lanier Evans was arrested by Hapeville officers on Aug. 26 and booked into Fulton County Jail in connection with the July 8 break-in.
  • He is charged with entering an automobile with intent to commit theft; a preliminary hearing set for Wednesday was postponed to Oct. 16, according to local reports.
  • The theft occurred at a Krog Street parking deck, where a rented Jeep Wagoneer used by choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue was broken into.
  • Stolen suitcases contained watermarked, unreleased Beyoncé music along with tour footage plans, past and future set lists, laptops, clothing and accessories.
  • Investigators cite light fingerprints, garage surveillance and Apple Find My pings that pointed to a 2025 Hyundai Elantra rental and a Hapeville address; police say the items have not been recovered and the case remains active.
