Overview
- UEFA confirmed on Friday, October 9, 2026 that Arne Slot has been appointed to its Technical Observer Group to analyse continental club fixtures.
- The group uses match video and statistical tools to produce detailed coaching reports, track tactical trends, and provide official Player of the Match and Team of the Tournament selections.
- Slot will work alongside an experienced panel that includes Rafa Benítez, Roy Hodgson, Gareth Southgate and former players such as David James and Sean Dyche.
- Slot has publicly denied entering advanced talks to become the Netherlands coach, and the KNVB instead appointed Xavi on a contract running through the 2030 World Cup.
- Four months after leaving Liverpool following a difficult title defence, Slot says he prefers daily club work and will use the UEFA role to stay connected and ready for the right managerial opportunity.
