Overview

• The new lieutenant colonels sworn in on June 13 are Shyam Sankar of Palantir, Andrew Bosworth of Meta, Kevin Weil of OpenAI and Bob McGrew of Thinking Machines Lab.
• They will commit about 120 hours per year, largely working remotely, to advise on rapid-deployment tech solutions for the Army.
• Instead of traditional boot camp, the executives will complete a condensed basic-training curriculum covering marksmanship, physical fitness, rank structure and uniforms.
