Overview

• On August 18, senior leaders from the 3rd Infantry Division and 1st Armored Division sustainment brigades toured the Powidz APS-2 site in Poland for a capabilities review and key leader engagement.
• Army Field Support Battalion-Poland leaders Lt. Col. Michelle McDevitt and Sgt. Maj. Olimpia Valdez hosted the visit, which focused on operations, cooperation with Polish partners, and lessons for support to NATO’s eastern flank.
• On August 13, Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense staffers Alexa Lorick and Kim Segura visited the Coleman APS-2 worksite in Mannheim, Germany, receiving briefings from Lt. Col. Jon Neal on capabilities and challenges such as outdoor storage.
• Visitors observed maintenance on tactical wheeled vehicles, M2 Bradley Fighting Vehicles, and M1 Abrams tanks as the 405th AFSB characterized APS-2 as a turn‑key power projection capability.
• Powidz features about 650,000 square feet of humidity‑controlled warehousing and a maintenance facility housing a full modernized armored brigade’s equipment set, one of six APS-2 sites across Europe managed by the 405th AFSB.
