Overview

• TRADOC held an inactivation ceremony Sept. 26 at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, where its colors were cased with Chief of Staff Gen. Randy A. George presiding.
• The inactivation takes effect Oct. 2, when Army Futures Command will also stand down at the University of Texas at Austin as T2COM activates with headquarters in Austin.
• Lt. Gen. David M. Hodne has been selected to command the new U.S. Army Transformation and Training Command.
• Army leaders frame the consolidation as streamlining leadership to meet Pentagon-directed cuts to general officer billets and eliminate redundancies.
• Officials emphasize TRADOC’s training, doctrine and leader development mission will continue under T2COM, citing efforts such as the Future Soldier Preparatory Course, Holistic Health and Fitness updates and expanded data literacy training.
