Overview
- The Prolongación Corregidora Norte (El Cerrito) vehicular bridge will be demolished and rebuilt starting Monday, Jan. 26, as part of the Tren México–Querétaro project.
- The intervention will reduce the avenue to one lane in each direction for several months, with local authorities estimating work could run until about August 2026.
- More than 80,000 Qrobús users across 22 routes that run through the corridor are expected to be directly affected by detours and slower service.
- Federal execution is confirmed, with the Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional’s Army engineering corps in charge of the bridge works.
- Municipal and state leaders are pressing the federal infrastructure ministry for fuller timelines while AMEQ prepares a mitigation and public information campaign.
