Overview
- Lt. Gen. Joseph Ryan assumed command at Fort Bragg as U.S. Army Forces Command cased its colors and Gen. Andrew Poppas retired.
- USAWHC consolidates FORSCOM, U.S. Army North and U.S. Army South to unify border support, disaster response, regional security cooperation and force generation across the Western Hemisphere.
- The Army targets initial operational capability by February 2026 and full operational capability by summer 2026, with Army North and Army South slated for formal inactivation on Oct. 15, 2026.
