Armored Mewtwo Returns to Pokémon GO in Limited Raid Window

Remote Raid access makes this reappearance a realistic catch for many players while the event also introduces new Mega Pokémon mechanics that change raids and the GO Battle League.

Overview

  • Armored Mewtwo will appear in five-star raids on Sept. 5 and Sept. 6, running from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time each day as part of Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale.
  • Scopely and the Pokémon GO team confirmed that the Armored form will not be available as a shiny during this return.
  • The Mega Finale adds a third Charged Attack for eligible Mega Pokémon that can be used in GO Battle League but not in Gyms, and grants Mega Mewtwo X Dynamic Punch+ and Mega Mewtwo Y Future Sight+ as new Adventure Effects.
  • Because Remote Raid support was added in April 2020, many players who missed the 2019 and 2020 runs will now have a realistic chance to participate and catch Armored Mewtwo without meeting in person.
  • Longtime collectors note the return will reduce the form’s six-year exclusivity, the Clone Pokémon’s comeback has not been confirmed, and original 2019/2020 specimens will still mark early participants.
