Armed Senior Shoots Mentally Ill Mugger, Now Faces Gun Charges

Charles Foehner, 65, shot and killed Cody Gonzalez, a 32-year-old mugger with a history of mental illness, in an attempted robbery.
Despite Gonzalez threatening him with a gun, Foehner fatally shot him multiple times in the chest.
Police found nearly 30 illegal firearms in Foehner's apartment, leading to 25 counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
Gonzalez had stopped taking medication for mental illness before the encounter and had a long criminal history.
Though Gonzalez's family does not blame Foehner, prosecutors are considering additional charges against Foehner.
