Overview

• The three offenders targeted a Melba Highway residence in Yea shortly after 1:15 am on June 23, two of them armed with guns and one with a machete.
• They demanded cash and firearms, stole three guns from the property and dragged the 58-year-old victim into the boot of his own car.
• The perpetrators doused the man in petrol, set the house ablaze, and the victim escaped to a neighbouring property to call for help.
• Country Fire Authority crews fought the blaze for over three hours before finally gaining control.
• No arrests have been made and Victoria Police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
