Overview

• The group entered the CEI Sonho de Infância near the Morumbi–Vila Sônia border to access a nearby condominium before residents called the police around 2 a.m.
• Suspects fled across rooftops, exchanged gunfire with officers, and held residents hostage in multiple homes, with one standoff ending around 7 a.m.
• Two men were taken into custody, the case was registered at the 89º DP in Jardim Taboão, and authorities have not confirmed injuries or what, if anything, was stolen.
• The PM deployed ground units and the Águia helicopter in continuing searches, and security cameras captured parts of the criminal action.
• The incident comes days after a joint operation on September 16 that authorities said dismantled a residential-robbery crew active in the Morumbi area.
