  • The incident began at 12:09 PM when a red Porsche Macan crashed into multiple vehicles on the Bruce Highway near Palmview.
  • The driver of the Porsche, armed with a firearm, shot the driver of a SsangYong Rexton and stole the vehicle, fleeing the scene.
  • The stolen Rexton was later found overturned near Forestry Road in Landsborough, where the suspect carjacked a grey Mazda 3 before being arrested near Steve Irwin Way.
  • A woman involved in the initial crash has died, and multiple injured individuals were transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for treatment.
  • Queensland Police have declared three crime scenes, closed southbound lanes of the Bruce Highway, and confirmed that the suspect and the initial shooting victim were not previously acquainted.
