ARLIS Enlists IonQ and Xanadu to Build Zero Trust Blueprint for Quantum Computing
The effort aims to translate NIST SP 800-207 into actionable security guidance for future government and industry deployments.
Overview
- The SEQCURE program, sponsored by the Secretary of the Air Force’s Concepts, Development, and Management Office, is bringing commercial quantum vendors into a security assessment led by ARLIS’s MIQA initiative.
- IonQ’s collaboration focuses on analyzing current commercial practices and defining what it would take to deploy a Zero Trust Architecture across future quantum computers and related cloud and data environments.
- Xanadu will provide ARLIS with technical details on its platforms and a holistic security analysis across six architectural areas: cloud, hardware, software, facilities, subjects/users, and data.
- ARLIS researchers are applying NIST’s Zero Trust principles to evaluate security postures for quantum systems and to develop recommendations that align emerging technologies with national security standards.
- The work is in the analysis phase with reports and architecture guidance expected to inform federal integration and wider industry adoption, and no final standards have been issued.
