Arkansas to Honor Darren McFadden With Commemorative No. 5 Jersey Patch

Current No. 5 wearers will debut the new patch before it is formally unveiled inside Reynolds Razorback Stadium on October 18.

  • UA Athletic Director Hunter Yurachek announced a permanent jersey patch to honor McFadden’s legacy by placing his silhouette and initials on this season’s No. 5 jerseys.
  • Defensive tackle Cam Ball and wide receiver Ja’Kayden Ferguson have been selected to wear No. 5 with the commemorative patch during the 2025 campaign.
  • The patch design features Darren McFadden’s signature running silhouette alongside his initials on the front of each jersey.
  • McFadden’s No. 5 will join Clyde Scott’s No. 12 and Brandon Burlsworth’s No. 77 on display inside Reynolds Razorback Stadium throughout the season.
  • Darren McFadden was a two-time Heisman Trophy runner-up and two-time Doak Walker Award winner who holds Arkansas career (4,590 yards) and single-season (1,830 yards) rushing records.
