Arkansas Police Chief Charged with Kidnapping and Assault

Michael Pitts, former police chief of Eudora, Arkansas, faces charges for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting a man in a remote location.

Michael H. Pitts, the former police chief of Eudora, Arkansas, was arrested and charged with kidnapping and assault stemming from an incident in October.
Pitts is accused of forcibly taking a man causing a disturbance at a gas station to a remote location, where he allegedly beat him and left him stranded.
The victim, identified as a 49-year-old man, reported significant injuries to his face and head as a result of the assault.
Pitts, who was fired from his position earlier this week, denies the allegations and intends to defend the case vigorously.
Pitts surrendered to the Chicot County Sheriff’s Office and was released on a $5,000 bond. He is due in court on Feb. 26.
