Arkansas man sentenced to over 4 years for assaulting police officer with flagpole during Capitol riot

Peter Francis Stager of Arkansas was sentenced to 52 months in prison for beating a police officer with a flagpole during the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riot.
Video shows Stager striking the officer repeatedly with a flagpole when rioters dragged the officer into the crowd.
Stager pleaded guilty to assaulting police with a dangerous weapon.
Over 1,000 people have been charged in the Capitol riot, with over 600 pleading guilty.
Stager will be under supervised release for 3 years after serving his 52 month sentence.
