Overview
- The Goa Cricket Association announced a 16-player Ranji Trophy squad on Friday, October 9, 2026, and Arjun Tendulkar was not included.
- Abhinav Tejrana was named captain and the support staff list includes head coach Dinesh Mongia, bowling coach Krishna Rao, director Prakash Mayenkar, and manager Anil Joglekar.
- Tendulkar moved to Goa in 2022, scored a century on his Ranji debut, has about 50 first-class wickets for the state, and last played for Goa in late January 2026 against Kerala.
- Selectors have not offered a public reason for his omission and no injury has been confirmed, and Tendulkar also missed Goa’s recent tour of Oman.
- Goa open the Ranji Trophy against Baroda at Bhausaheb Bandodkar Ground on October 11 and the immediate questions to watch are whether the association will clarify the omission and how the squad will cover Tendulkar’s bowling and batting roles.
