Overview

  • Arizona rebounded from an 18-2 Game 1 loss by winning Game 2 10-8 and edging North Carolina 4-3 in the decisive Game 3 of the Chapel Hill super regional.
  • Mason White delivered a bases-loaded, two-RBI single in the eighth inning to break a 3-3 tie and put the Wildcats ahead for good.
  • Arizona’s bullpen closed out the final three innings without surrendering a run, with Tony Pluta earning his 14th save of the season.
  • The victory marks Arizona’s first trip to the College World Series since 2021 and their 19th appearance overall under coach Chip Hale.
  • The Wildcats will open CWS play against Coastal Carolina in Omaha later this week as they chase a fifth national championship.
