BJ Freeman led the Sun Devils with 19 points before being ejected in the second half for a flagrant foul, while Basheer Jihad added 17 points and Jayden Quaintance recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
ASU shot an efficient 51.9% from the field and 46.4% from three-point range, while holding Colorado to just 34.8% shooting and a dismal 12.5% from beyond the arc.
Colorado’s Trevor Baskin scored a season-high 23 points, but the Buffaloes’ leading scorer Julian Hammond was held scoreless on 0-for-7 shooting.
The Sun Devils played without their top scorer Joson Sanon due to injury, but they rallied to bounce back from a recent loss and now face a challenging road game against No. 7 Kansas on Wednesday.
