Arizona Officer Fatally Shot 18 Years After Father Died in Line of Duty

Officer Joshua Briese and a civilian were killed during a disturbance call on the Gila River Indian Community; two suspects are in custody.

Joshua Briese, 23, was still in field training with the Gila River Police Department.
His father, David Briese, died in a car crash while on duty in 2006.
Another officer and three civilians were injured in the shooting.
The Gila River Indian Community has temporarily banned dances following the incident.
The FBI and local police are jointly investigating the shooting.
