Arizona Officer and Off-Duty Firefighter Rescue Woman from Burning Vehicle After Fiery Crash

The dramatic rescue, captured on bodycam footage, occurred after a cement truck caused a rollover accident on U.S. 60 highway in Mesa.

Chandler Police Officer Brian Larison and off-duty firefighter Asa Paguia worked together to save Aymee Ruiz from her burning pickup truck after a collision on February 18.
The accident occurred when a cement truck rear-ended Ruiz's vehicle, causing it to roll over and ignite in flames, leaving her trapped inside.
Larison, a Marine veteran, used his baton to break the truck's window, while Paguia, also a Marine veteran, used his firefighting gear to extract Ruiz and move her to safety.
Ruiz, who sustained minor injuries, expressed gratitude to her rescuers, calling their efforts 'incredible' and saying she was thankful to reunite with her family.
Both first responders emphasized their commitment to protecting lives, with Larison stating, 'My contract says payable with my life, if necessary.'
