Arik Armstead Named 2024 NFL Man of the Year for Community Impact

Arik Armstead, in his first season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, received the prestigious Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award at the NFL Honors ceremony in New Orleans.
Armstead's Armstead Academic Project, founded in 2019, has raised over $2 million to provide educational resources and STEAM opportunities for underserved youth in Sacramento, the Bay Area, and Jacksonville.
This season, Armstead launched initiatives such as 'Storytime with Arik Armstead' to improve literacy rates and donated $50,000 to fund a STEAM workshop for teenagers.
In his acceptance speech, Armstead highlighted the importance of unity and urged others to positively impact their communities, emphasizing that success should be measured by the lives one touches.
The Walter Payton Man of the Year award recognizes both on-field excellence and community service, with Armstead becoming the second Jaguars player to win the honor after Calais Campbell in 2019.
