Argonaut Sets October 29 Release for Croc 2 Remaster

The remaster packages modernized movement, vehicle sequences and a Croc2pedia archival museum to bring the 1999 sequel to current consoles and PC.

Overview

  • Argonaut Games confirmed Thursday that Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos will launch on October 29, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC on Steam and GOG.
  • The studio says the remaster adds a new triple jump, modernized controls and camera, and vehicle-based segments including cars, speedboats, minecarts, a hang glider and an airplane across more than 40 open 3D levels.
  • Croc2pedia is built into the release as a digital museum that collects long‑lost design documents, cut assets, animation tests and interviews with original Argonaut team members and the remaster developers.
  • Argonaut released a new trailer and is promoting the launch through its 'Croctober' social campaign, and it has not disclosed pricing or physical edition details while listing Switch backward compatibility on future hardware and excluding Xbox One.
  • The project follows Argonaut’s 2025 remaster of the original Croc, which drew mixed critic scores but strong player ratings, and the studio says it overcame extra technical work on Croc 2’s different engine to deliver the updated release.
