Argentine Workers Stuck in Offices Despite Strong Hybrid Demand

Randstad data show employee expectations for flexible schedules are outpacing current work models, prompting companies to rethink office design.

Overview

  • 83 percent of employees in Argentina work fully on-site even though 51 percent say hybrid models are ideal and just 13 percent currently split time between home and office.
  • Andrea Ávila of Randstad notes that while fully remote work has stabilized, hybrid arrangements are decreasing as more staff return to full-time office schedules.
  • In the region, hybrid work leads preferences at 63 percent in Chile and 60 percent in Uruguay, compared with 51 percent in Argentina, while only 8 percent of Argentines and Uruguayans and 17 percent of Chileans favor full-time remote.
  • Among workers who choose hybrid models in Argentina, most (62 percent) prefer two remote days and three in-office days each week.
  • Randstad warns that many jobs in production, manufacturing, commerce and customer service cannot go remote, pushing companies to update policies and redesign offices to retain talent.
