  • The Instituto Nacional de la Música officially confirmed Torres’s death on July 12 after a two-year battle with cancer.
  • She eschewed surgery and chemotherapy in favor of her self-developed “Cantar Sana” method based on singing, chanting and shamanic tools.
  • As a multi-instrumentalist and composer, she blended ancestral chants with rock, pop and electronic elements to redefine contemporary folklore.
  • Her collaborations included a 2019 performance of Argentina’s national anthem with Lito Vitale at Rosario’s Monumento a la Bandera and at the Casa Rosada.
