Argentine Cities Enforce UF-Indexed Traffic Fines as Córdoba Updates Signage

Overview

  • Córdoba’s sustained speed operations recorded 422 infractions among 1,671 vehicles in the first three days, including 189 violations in Costanera zone traffic controls.
  • Eduardo Ramírez confirmed that entrance signage on routes such as Avenida Armada Argentina and E-53 will be updated without suspending existing speed enforcement.
  • In Buenos Aires City, red-light violations now carry fines of 300 to 1,500 UF ($219,486–$1,097,430) while speeding penalties range from 70 to 4,000 UF ($51,213–$2,926,480) under the UF-based system.
  • Santa Fe raised its Unidad Fija by 13.4% to $1,365 on August 1, increasing maximum penalties to $3,003,000 for drivers exceeding speed limits by more than 40 km/h.
  • The Province of Buenos Aires imposed UF-based fines up to $1,435,000 for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs as part of its newly indexed penalty schedule.
