Argentine Banks Lift 30-Day Deposit Yields Again as Digital Offers Hit 55% TNA
BCRA deregulation has spurred competition that is widening the gap between online and branch rates.
Overview
- Current 30-day fixed-term offers span roughly 30% to 55% TNA, with a fresh round of increases reported in late August.
- Banco Nación’s simulator shows a 47% TNA for electronic deposits versus 32.5% in-branch, yielding $38,630 on $1,000,000 over 30 days online.
- Leading electronic rates include Banco CMF at 55%, Banco Macro at 53.5%, Banco Provincia de Tierra del Fuego and VOII at 54%, and Banco Bica and Banco del Sol at 51%.
- Among large banks, ICBC posts 47.7% TNA, Hipotecario 47.5%, Credicoop and Nación 47%, BBVA 45%, while Santander is at 38% and Banco Ciudad 35%.
- The BCRA’s public TEM table lets savers compare daily offers, and many banks allow non-clients to open fixed-term deposits online.
