Argentine Army Unveils First Images of Monte Kun Summit

  • The ascent began at 22:00 on August 4 from a 4,515-meter base camp and reached the peak at 17:30 on August 5 after nearly 20 hours of climbing.
  • The joint expedition mobilized 67 people, including nine Argentine soldiers, 17 Indian troops, 11 avalanche-rescue specialists and 30 support staff.
  • All participants completed a staged 48-hour descent to base camp and were confirmed in good health with no injuries reported.
  • The climb is part of the Himalaya 2025 defense collaboration, which included yearlong joint planning, Aconcagua training and Indian Air Force evacuation and medical support.
