Argentine Actor-Director Isaac Eisen Dies at 74

Argentina's actors union announced his passing, citing work across theater, television, film, radio plus advertising.

  • The Asociación Argentina de Actores confirmed Eisen’s death on Sunday at age 74.
  • Born Isaac Abraham Ponimunski on July 2, 1951, he was also known as “El Fenómeno.”
  • He trained at the Escuela Nacional de Arte Dramático and studied with Raúl Serrano, Ricky Pashkus, Dorys Petroni and Susana Taubert.
  • He performed with Teatro San Martín and the Comedia de la Provincia de Buenos Aires and for more than a decade coordinated the Lector and Nuevas Fantasías theater-reading groups.
  • His last television appearance was in ATAV, following roles in El sodero de mi vida, Los Roldán, Muñeca Brava and other series, while colleagues posted condolences on social media and no cause of death was reported.
