Overview

  • Argentina shipped more than 1.3 million tonnes of soybeans in July, and early August loadings suggest one of the strongest months on record, according to the Rosario exchange.
  • Domestic cash prices hovered near 395,000 pesos per tonne after export-duty reductions and accelerated farmer selling.
  • El Día reports Chinese commitments of roughly 8 million tonnes from Argentina, while Clarín notes unconfirmed market talk of up to 6 million tonnes for reserves.
  • Chicago futures fell toward $353 per tonne on a large U.S. harvest and delayed Chinese buying, even as recent U.S. weekly export sales topped 1 million tonnes.
  • Roughly 56% of Argentina’s crop is already sold, and U.S. soybean meal exports hit record levels in January–July, boosted by biofuels-driven crushing and intensifying competition in a market Argentina long led.
