Overview
- The Bolsa de Cereales reports that the 2025/26 soybean campaign has 91.7% harvested with a national average yield near 32 quintales per hectare and a production forecast of about 50.1 million tonnes.
- The same Bolsa data show national maize yields around 82.7 quintales per hectare and a production projection near 64 million tonnes, with top regions such as Núcleo Norte and Norte de La Pampa–Oeste de Buenos Aires posting the highest yields on record.
- Wheat sowing for 2026/27 has advanced rapidly to 32.4% of the projected 6.5 million hectares following strong autumn moisture that sped field preparation and planting.
- Fundación Producir Conservando projects output could rise to roughly 177 million tonnes by 2034/35 under a scenario of area expansion and yield gains but estimates fertilizer demand of about 9–10.2 million tonnes, more than double current use.
- Analysts warn that the 2024/25 campaigns applied only about 4–4.8 million tonnes of fertilizer versus a roughly seven million tonnes level needed for nutrient replacement, meaning soil nutrient mining must be reversed through higher inputs, stronger rotations and restored no‑till to keep growth sustainable.
