Argentina’s National Public Payroll Declines Again in November as Two-Year Cuts Near 60,000 Jobs

INDEC data underscore a sustained downsizing that has reduced APN staffing 15.57% since January 2024.

  • November 2025 registered a net loss of 785 national public-sector jobs, a 0.3% month-over-month drop, leaving 281,785 employees.
  • Compared with November 2024, headcount fell 7.8%, equal to 22,322 fewer positions year over year.
  • Since the start of the Milei administration’s period tracked from January 2024, the APN has shed 59,688 jobs, a cumulative contraction of 15.57%.
  • From January through November 2025, staffing declined by 18,178 positions, a 6.06% reduction over the 11-month period.
  • In November, centralized units fell 0.7% and decentralized units 0.3%, the desconcentrated category rose 1.3% (+284), and state firms lost 374 jobs (−0.4%) to 89,566.
