Overview

  • On July 14, Deputy Alejandro Bongiovanni introduced the Ley de libertad inmobiliaria to remove university degree, professional license, fixed-fee and geographic restrictions for real estate brokers.
  • As of July 15, provincial and national real estate bodies including the Rosario brokers’ college had coalesced in a unified critique as deputies began formal review of the legislation.
  • In Tucumán, the local college reports roughly 15 percent of operators practised without registration, with cases of phantom listings and fraud raising concerns that deregulation could worsen informal trade.
  • Fernando Guzmán of the Tucumán brokers’ college and Nancy Vieitez of the Cámara Inmobiliaria Argentina caution that scrapping controls would degrade service quality, fuel unfair competition and heighten fraud.
  • The Cámara Inmobiliaria Argentina and other professional associations have tabled an alternative package featuring a national broker registry, a unified MLS platform and auxiliary agents working under professional supervision.
