Overview
- The Servicio Meteorológico Nacional kept multi-level warnings in place on Friday after issuing alerts the previous day, with orange and yellow advisories covering large parts of the country including AMBA, Neuquén, Río Negro, Córdoba and Santa Fe.
- Orange zones face the highest risk of locally severe storms with expected totals of roughly 60–100 mm in heavy bursts while yellow areas have lower but still disruptive totals typically between 15–70 mm.
- The AMBA and CABA remain under a yellow alert for evening and night storms with forecasters citing 40–70 mm in short periods, frequent lightning, possible hail and gusts up to about 90 km/h.
- Agencies warned of secondary hazards: the Instituto Nacional del Agua flagged possible river rises in the Alto Paraná, Iguazú and Paraguay basins, and SMN cautioned that Zonda winds in Andean and Cuyo sectors can sharply raise temperatures, lower humidity and cut visibility.
- Officials advised people to avoid travel, secure loose objects, clear drains, disconnect appliances if water enters buildings, and monitor bulletins as instability is expected to persist through the weekend with gradual improvement from Monday, October 26.
