Overview

• Defense Ministry Resolution 727/2025, published August 28, launches the execution phase from August 27 to December 15 for military support on the northern and northeastern borders.
• The first stage is concentrated in Salta within the designated border security zone, with the option to extend the operation to other northern and northeastern jurisdictions.
• The mission prioritizes surveillance and control in non-urban areas and unauthorized crossing points and is also tasked with contributing to the demarcation of international boundaries.
• Military personnel will work alongside federal and provincial security forces under the Comando Conjunto Subordinado Zona de Frontera 1/25 and a Defense–Security interministerial coordination mesa.
• An information and activity registry will be managed by the Estado Mayor Conjunto with the Dirección Nacional de Planeamiento y Estrategia to track objectives, building on the framework set by Resolución 347/2025.
