Argentina Sets January Pay Floors for Domestic Workers as Bonus Becomes Salary

Treating the bonus as salary changes how contributions, aguinaldo, vacations, extras, plus minimums are computed.

Overview

  • The CNTCP confirmed the final installment of the extraordinary bonus for January 2026, completing the schedule started in November and December.
  • From January 2026 the bonus is incorporated into wages with remunerative status, which alters the base used for social contributions and legally mandated add‑ons.
  • A 1.3% pay increase applies in January relative to December, and the commission published updated minimum hourly and monthly rates for all categories.
  • New minima include, for general tasks with retiro, $3,250.10 per hour and $398,722.14 per month, with higher floors for other roles and for work without retiro.
  • The bonus bands remain $6,000 for under 12 weekly hours, $9,000 for 12–16 hours, and $14,000 for more than 16 hours, alongside a 1% annual seniority increment and a 30% zone surcharge in specified southern areas.
