Argentina Sets Jan. 6 Pilot to Convert Social Plans Into Job Training

The ministry is shifting assistance from cash transfers to accredited courses funded by vouchers for VAT recipients.

Overview

  • The Ministry of Capital Humano will start a pilot on January 6 with 20 Volver al Trabajo beneficiaries taking two eight-class modules over two months to earn a professional painting certificate.
  • Participants will continue receiving their payments during this initial phase, with officials positioning the move as a step toward voucher-based training.
  • Courses will combine theory and practice with a 70% attendance requirement, and Sinteplast will supply study materials and painting inputs for the first cohort.
  • Training will take place at the restored Capital Humano Formation Center at the Predio Garrigós in La Paternal, a site refurbished with support from the Bolsa de Comercio.
  • The ministry is building an Integrated Social Information System and cloud platform to create a Unique Beneficiary Registry and a Social Household Registry, and it is studying a single 'AUH Familiar' to unify AUH, pregnancy, Plan Mil Días and Tarjeta Alimentar, with the broader plan envisioning ARS 78,000 educational vouchers for VAT recipients.
