Argentina Reworks Holiday Calendar, Confirms Oct. 10–12 Break and Four-Day Weekend in November

The changes aim to boost domestic tourism by turning weekend holidays into predictable long breaks.

  • Decree 614/2025 authorizes the Jefatura de Gabinete to move movable holidays that fall on weekends to the preceding Friday or following Monday, enabling extended breaks including a four-day weekend from Nov. 21–24.
  • Resolution 139/2025 shifts the Día del Respeto a la Diversidad Cultural from Sunday, Oct. 12, to Friday, Oct. 10, establishing a national long weekend.
  • Late September features localized non‑working days: Buenos Aires municipalities add Sept. 22, 26 and 29 as asuetos, while in Peru Piura observes Sept. 24 and Trujillo Sept. 26 for regional festivities.
  • The Día del Empleado de Comercio moves to Monday, Sept. 29, under accords that close supermarkets, hypermarkets, wholesalers and shopping centers nationwide for 24 hours.
  • Operational adjustments follow, with ANSES indicating potential changes to October payment dates and affected jurisdictions modifying school schedules and public service hours.
