Argentina Reorders Executive Branch With Decree 793/2025, Centralizing Communications and Key Portfolios

The order rewrites the Cabinet law to consolidate authority under the Chief of Cabinet, shifting migration and identity control to Security.

Overview

  • The decree, published in the Boletín Oficial, eliminates the Secretariat of Communication and Media and transfers its credits, assets, personnel and units to the Chief of Cabinet.
  • Manuel Adorni, now Chief of Cabinet, will centralize official messaging after signaling there will be no separate government spokesperson.
  • Tourism, environment and sports move from the Interior Ministry to the Chief of Cabinet, including administration of the National Tourism Fund.
  • The Security Ministry assumes full conduct of migration policy, taking control of the National Migration Directorate and Renaper, with prior legal references to Interior now interpreted as Security.
  • The President’s direct-support structure is reduced to four secretariats—General, Legal and Technical, State Intelligence and Culture—with the first three retaining ministerial rank.
