Overview
- Argentina’s Education Secretariat finalized the 2026 calendar after CFE Assembly No. 148, with all 24 jurisdictions committing to at least 190 effective days of classes.
- Start dates vary by province: Santiago del Estero begins on February 18; Chubut, Jujuy and San Luis on February 23; Tierra del Fuego on February 24; CABA, Mendoza, Neuquén and Santa Cruz on February 25; and most provinces, including Buenos Aires, Córdoba and Santa Fe, on March 2.
- Winter breaks differ: July 6–17 in provinces such as Córdoba, Santa Fe, San Juan, San Luis and Mendoza; July 13–24 in a broad group including Corrientes, Río Negro and Salta; and July 20–31 in Buenos Aires, CABA, Chaco and Santiago del Estero.
- Most jurisdictions end classes on December 18, with exceptions including Buenos Aires, Mendoza and Misiones on December 22, La Pampa on December 23, and Formosa on December 17.
- Peru’s Minedu set classes to start on March 16 with a 42‑week year organized into lective and management blocks, and it will run Matrícula Digital from January 19 to March 6 for more than 2,000 public schools in 20 UGELs across six regions.
