Argentina Publishes November Minimum Wages for Domestic Workers
The change completes the staged conversion of an August one‑time bonus into base pay, with monthly percentage raises continuing.
Overview
- The Comisión Nacional de Trabajo en Casas Particulares released the November 2026 minimum scales on Wednesday, finalizing the last 25% tranche of a bonus paid in August and adding it to base salaries.
- For the 'personal de tareas generales' category the new minima are $4,174.62 per hour with retiro and $4,451.49 per hour without retiro, equal to monthly floors of $512,142.96 and $562,837.52 respectively.
- The bonus paid in August — $20,000 for 16+ hours, $11,500 for 12–<16 hours and $8,000 for under 12 hours — has been integrated in three steps: 25% in September, 50% in October and the final 25% in November.
- The regime keeps detailed rules on payment modality and extras: workers with 24+ weekly hours receive a proportional monthly salary while others are paid hourly, overtime carries 50% and up to 100% premiums, antigüedad adds 1% per year and a 31% zona desfavorable applies in specified provinces.
- Employers must apply the new legal minima from November and prepare for a final 1.6% scheduled increase in December, which together will raise take‑home pay for many domestic workers though higher contracts remain allowed by agreement.
