Argentina Publishes Final Voter Roll as First Nationwide Paper Ballot Set for Oct. 26 Legislative Vote

Voters are being urged to look up their polling place and learn the new single-ballot procedure to choose members of both chambers of Congress.

Overview

  • The definitive register is live at padron.gob.ar, where voters enter DNI, gender, district and a captcha to obtain their school, table and order number.
  • Polling stations operate from 8:00 to 18:00 on Sunday, and locations can also be confirmed through the National Electoral Justice site or the MiArgentina app.
  • Under the new single paper ballot, the table authority signs and issues one ballot and a pen; voters mark one choice per category, fold it, deposit it in the urn, and then sign the roll.
  • Senate sections display candidate names with photos, while deputy lists show up to five names with photos of the first two, with ballot formats varying by whether a district elects senators.
  • There are no primaries this cycle due to a 2024 reform; Buenos Aires renews 35 deputies, eight jurisdictions elect senators, and failure to vote can bring fines and temporary limits on public procedures.
