Argentina Publishes 2026 School Calendar, Sets 190-Day Minimum

The move formalizes province-by-province schedules under CFE Resolution 508/2025.

Overview

  • Most provinces will start classes on March 2, with Santiago del Estero beginning on February 18 and late‑February starts in CABA, Mendoza, Neuquén, Santa Cruz, Chubut, Jujuy, San Luis and Tierra del Fuego.
  • Winter recesses are coordinated in three windows across jurisdictions: July 6–17, July 13–24, or July 20–31, with Buenos Aires, CABA, Chaco and Santiago del Estero in the latest slot.
  • The school year will generally end on December 18, with exceptions including Buenos Aires and Mendoza on December 22, La Pampa on December 23, and Formosa on December 17.
  • Administrators and staff return before students for planning: services staff on February 5, school leadership on February 6, and teachers and preceptors on February 9.
  • All 24 jurisdictions committed to guaranteeing at least 190 effective days of classes as coordinated through the Consejo Federal de Educación.
