Overview
- From September, financial institutions and payment providers must block transactions for CUITs listed in ARCA’s Base de Contribuyentes No Confiables.
- The enforcement covers bank accounts, credit, debit and prepaid cards, and virtual wallets, with automatic interruptions to card, QR, transfers and platforms such as Mercado Pago and MODO.
- ARCA flags taxpayers based on four triggers: incomplete or inconsistent tax filings, unexplained money movements, lack of supporting documentation, or activity that does not match reported income.
- Affected users can check their status in the Estado administrativo del CUIT, submit documents online, and receive ARCA’s decision via the domicilio fiscal electrónico before services are reactivated.
- The policy is reported to have Central Bank backing, and updated monitoring thresholds are already in force, including transfer reviews starting at $50 million for individuals.
