Argentina on High Storm Alert as SMN Issues Orange Warnings Across Six Provinces

Authorities issue safety guidance for areas at risk of severe thunderstorms.

  • The national meteorological service placed Tucumán, Santiago del Estero, Santa Fe, La Rioja, Catamarca and Corrientes under orange alerts for severe storms on January 16.

  • Santa Cruz and Chubut face a separate yellow alert for strong westerly winds of 40–60 km/h with gusts up to 90 km/h, while AMBA sees lower temperatures and no alerts.
