Argentina Metalworkers See January Raises as Construction Pay Holds at December Levels

Employers are applying the UOM pact before Labor Secretariat homologation, with fixed extras scheduled through March alongside a salary review.

Overview

  • Metalworkers receive a 4.2% remunerative increase in January plus a non-remunerative $15,000, and the reference hourly rate rises from $3,942.63 to $4,108.22.
  • The agreement foresees non-remunerative payments of $25,000 in February and $35,000 in March, followed by a March wage review.
  • UOM says the fixed extras will be progressively folded into the basic salary, which will affect seniority pay, overtime and the aguinaldo.
  • The pact was negotiated with Adimra, Camima, Fedehogar, Caiama and Afac; formal homologation is pending but companies have already begun to liquidate the increases.
  • In construction, no new January scales were confirmed, so December 2025 rates remain the reference, including Oficial Especializado hourly pay of $5,200 in Zone I, $5,772 in Zone II, $7,983 in Zone III and $10,400 in Zone IV.
