Argentina Lifts January Pensions 2.47% With Targeted Bonus as Peru Implements Public-Sector Pay Raises

The actions implement inflation-indexed updates or negotiated raises under rules that direct relief to lower incomes, capping higher pay.

Overview

  • Argentina’s ANSES applied a 2.47% CPI-based increase for January 2026 and set an extraordinary bonus of up to $70,000 for low-benefit retirees, with payments scheduled by DNI.
  • With the January update, Argentina’s guaranteed minimum is $349,299.32 and the maximum is $2,350,453.70; the bonus tops incomes up to $419,299.32 and does not reach higher-benefit retirees.
  • Argentina’s February adjustment will be determined by INDEC’s December CPI to be published mid-January, while the continuation of the bonus beyond January remains unconfirmed.
  • Peru’s Ministry of Economy and Finance put into effect from January 1 monthly remunerative, pensionable increases of S/53 for DL 728 and Civil Service, and S/100 for CAS, penitentiary staff and certain local-government workers, subject to registration in AIRHSP.
  • Peru set a S/15,600 monthly income cap that limits the increment when exceeded, and the ONP raised the maximum pension by S/107 to S/1,000 starting with February 2026 disbursements.
