Argentina Leaves November Domestic Worker Pay Scale Unchanged

Unions confirm no new raises for November, with mandatory seniority and zone supplements still in force.

Overview

  • ARCA maintains the November wage table at September levels after a staggered 6.5% increase concluded in September, and UPACP reports no new paritaria adjustments.
  • For general cleaning staff, official hourly minimums are $3,052.99 with retiro and $3,293.99 without retiro, while many local markets report payments of $6,000 to $8,000 per hour.
  • Two compulsory add-ons apply to the baseline: 1% seniority for each uninterrupted year with the same employer and a 30% uplift for designated disadvantage zones.
  • The 30% zone supplement covers La Pampa, Río Negro, Chubut, Neuquén, Santa Cruz, Tierra del Fuego (including Antártida e Islas del Atlántico Sur) and Buenos Aires’ Partido de Patagones.
  • Employers must register workers in ARCA, calculate wages to the official scale, and make social-security contributions, with state oversight and potential financial sanctions for noncompliance.
